He was predeceased by: his parents, Otis Cleous and Hazel Cleous (Mercer); his siblings, Roy and Dorothy McBurney; his wife Wilma; and his son-in-law Chris Freeman.

He is survived by: his daughter Cindy Cleous Freeman of Cassoday, Kansas; his granddaughter Bailey Tessendorf; and his great grandchild Zoey Fenn of Newton, Kansas..
