It is with great sadness that we announce the death of George Wayne Varney of Gardner, Kansas, born in Denver, Colorado, who passed away on September 6, 2023, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, George Wilbur and Kathleen Opal Varney (Comer); and his siblings, Georgene Kathleen Julien and Larry Lee Varney. He is survived by : his wife Shirley Mae; his sons, Derek Lane Varney (Margaret) of Gardner, KS, Dustin Lee Varney (Melanie) of Parker, CO. and Dana Lance Varney (Melissa) of Conroe, TX; and his grandchildren, Courtney Weibe (Joel), Ryan Varney, Cole Varney (Diana), Beau Varney, Nathan and Kayden Varney. He is also survived by two great grandchildren.
