He is survived by: his wife Holly Applegarth of Gardner; his children, Cody Applegarth (Michelle) of Dallas and Trisha Allison (Devin) of Ottawa; his grandchildren, AJ Allison and Katherine Stevenson; his daughter Natalie Morrison (Karl) of Blue Springs; his grandsons, Dean and Eric Morrison; and his siblings, Don (Judy Lauffenburger), Liz Cook, Jacque (Dave Hogue), Sandy (Mel Spears), John (Twyla Applegarth), David Applegarth and Debbie (Ron Hornick).

Memorials are to the Miami County Fair Board in memory of Jim.
