With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Gary Chandler of Garnett, Kansas, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 16, 2025 at the age of 70. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his father Laurence Chandler; his nephew Waylon Boots; and his mother-in-law Donna Varvel. He is survived by: his mother Coleen Hurley (Lickteig); his wife Connie Varvel; his children, Stephanie Cannady (Rusty) of Ottawa, Stacy Chandler of Ottawa, Susan Welsh (Austin) of Prairie Village and Matt Chandler (Tiffany) of Olathe; his grandchildren, Alex, Max, Knox Cannady, Zoey, Rhys Welsh, Charlotte and Beckham Chandler; his stepfather Bill Hurley of Garnett; his siblings, Karen Cronkhite (Bob) of Topeka and Larry Chandler (Laurie) of Topeka; his father-in-law Gordon Varvel of Burlington; his sister-in-law Cindy Boots (Brad) of Welda; and his nephews, Zac Chandler and Evan Boots.
Memorial contributions may be made to COF Training Services or Anderson County 4-H or Central Heights Band and left in care of the funeral home.
