He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Jess and Neta Johnston (Weldon); and his sisters, Lois Kern and Carol Adamson. He is survived by: his wife Joanne Johnston of Lyons, KS; and his children, Jill Roane (Darryl) of Offerle, KS, Mike Johnston (Kendra) of Inman, KS and Mark Johnston (Vicki) of Lyons, KS. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be given to the Geneseo American Legion Post #241 in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons. The family requests no flowers.
