He was predeceased by : his parents, Cyryl Gustus and Olive Roby Gustus; his brothers, Don, Cliff and Dean Gustus; and his granddaughter Krista Shannon.

He is survived by : his stepchildren, Tim Young (Jeanette) of Garnett, KS and Debbie Polson (Don) of Louisburg, KS; and his friend Randy Hager of Geneseo. He is also survived by six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
