In the soft embrace of remembrance, we recall the profound impact Martha had on those she encountered along her journey. She was predeceased by: her former husband Fay South. She is survived by: her husband Basil "Bud" Burner; her children, David South (Karen), Randy South (Lisa) and Karen Wells (Dewayne Jones); and her sisters, Peggy, Glenda and Hazel. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 9th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Rice Funeral Service (631 E Will Rogers Blvd, Claremore, OK 74017). A graveside service will be held on Monday, November 10th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Woodlawn Cemetery (310 S Nome Ave, Claremore, OK 74017).
Memorials may be made to the Cowley County Humane Society and left in the care of the Rice Family Funeral Home or the Shelley Family Funeral Home of Arkansas City.
