Danny E. Best Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Danny E. Best of Girard, Kansas, who passed away on December 7, 2025 at the age of 72. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, William F. Best and Mary Ellen Best (Ruston); his grandson Haven Skyler Morse; and his siblings, Larry Best and Betty Fisher.
He is survived by: his children, William L. Best of Joplin, Danielle D. Best of Girard and Angela L. Best of Fort Scott; and his brothers, Robert Best of Georgia, Bill Best of Girard and Roger Best of Cherokee. He is also survived by six grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 10th 2025 at 2:00 PM and from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home (518 W St John St, Girard, KS 66743). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 11th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. The military honors will be held on Thursday, December 11th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the Fort Scott National Cemetery (900 E National Ave, Fort Scott, KS 66701).
