He was predeceased by: his parents, Rudolf Henry and Anna Virl Grittman (Amspacker); his siblings, Neil Grittman, Elden Grittman (Dixie) and Bernetha DeLisle; his siblings-in-law, Kenneth St. Clair (Noelle), DeAnn Huhn and Susan Owens; and his stepsons, Alan Heidrick and Andy Heidrick.

He is survived by: his wife Marlene Heidrick (Shay); his children, David (Nicole) and Ruth Ann Zimmer (Kevin); his granddaughters, Morgan Hewett (Andy), Makinze Grittman, Kassandra, Ashlyn Zimmer and Hays; his great grandchildren, Blakely and Aidan Hewett; and his brothers-in-law, Michael Huhn and Richard Owens. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Memorials may be given to The Nicol Home, Meadowlark Hospice or the Church.
