He was predeceased by: his parents, Glen Townsend and Ole Townsend (Kenny); and his siblings, Ray Townsend, Phyllis Maupin, Janice Bunker and Kenneth Townsend.
He is survived by: his wife Eunice; his children, Curt Peter (Jeannie) of Melbourne, FL, Darol Peter (Carrie) of Goodland, KS and Corinne (Thomas) of Herrera; his grandchildren, Nathan Peter (Pamela), Lindsey Schuetz (Scott), Nic (Jena) of Herrera, Luc (Abby) of Herrera, Evan Peter (Kaitlyn) and Witton Peter; and his great grandchildren, Devin, Peyton, Camdyn Peter, Sam and Sadie Lakins.
