He is survived by: his children, Cynthia Mermis of Gorham, Kimberly Farrar (Jared) of Russell, Kansas and Paul Mermis of Waller; his fiancée Roberta Hupfer; his brother Steve Mermis of Russell, Kansas; and his stepdaughters, Theresa and Alleda Hupfer. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
