He was predeceased by: his parents, Griffin "Jake" Cheshire and Edra Cheshire (Larkin); his brother Billie Rayford Cheshire; and his daughter Kelly Lyn Cheshire. He is survived by: his wife Martha Cheshire; his daughters, Cindy Scheidel (Denis) of Kansas City, Kristi Seemann (Louis) of Olathe, Lori Flesburg (John) of Boonville, Jenny Ayres (Gary) of McPherson and Jessica Godwin (Rick) of Kansas City; and his grandchildren, Alex Seemann, Ariel Seemann, Ava Seemann, Kathryn Flesburg, Joey Flesburg and Megan Scheidel.
