He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred W. Berger, Sr. and Fern Berger (Walsh); his wife Wilma Jean Korbe; his children, Brent Berger and Babette Kinderknecht; his stepsons, William Allen Korbe and Walter Joseph Korbe; his siblings-in-law, Charles Oscar McIntosh, Leona McIntosh and Dorothy Fross; and his stepgranddaughter Emily Faye Noffsinger.
He is survived by: his former wife Barbara Windscheffel; his son Brad A. Berger of Aptos, CA; his stepdaughter Debra J. Noffsinger (Clayton) of Great Bend; his half-brother Charles Berger (Sally) of Soddy, TN; his siblings-in-law, Francis McIntosh of Smith Center and Darlene Hammerschmidt of Hutchinson; his daughter-in-law Mary LaFlamme of Hays; and his grandchildren, Lana McClanahan, John Kinderknecht, Candi Pfannenstiel, Jeffrey Noffsinger, Jennifer Sullivan (Nathan), Cory Noffsinger (Sheena) and Jacki Klug. He is also survived by 18 great grandchildren.
Memorials are suggested and payable to Heartland Community Foundation for the Fred and Jean Berger Insurance Planning, Inc. Charitable Fund or to Gentiva Hospice.
