Laura Ann Schenkel Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Laura Ann Schenkel of Great Bend, Kansas, who passed away on October 31, 2023, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Steinbacher and Eulalia Steinbacher (Brehm); her husband Ray S. Schenkel; her brothers, Charlie F. Steinbacher and Larry "Bones" Steinbacher; and her brother-in-law Leon Romme.
She is survived by: her sons, Scott Schenkel (Leilani) of Great Bend and Todd Schenkel (Michelle) of Topeka; her siblings, Jerry "Pete" Steinbacher of Great Bend, Jim Steinbacher (Debra) of New Braunfels, Texas, Jolene Romme of Lawrence, Jeanne Hollembeak (Bruce) of Lee's Summit and Mary Lou Steinbacher of Denver, Colo.; her sister-in-law Anne Steinbacher of Kansas City; and her grandchildren, Evan Schenkel, Cory Schenkel (Jessica), Taylor Christopher (Andy) and Tate Schenkel. She is also survived by five great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Dominican Sisters of Peace or Golden Belt Humane Society, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
