She was predeceased by: her daughter Marcene Penka; her siblings, Johnny Dreiling (Helen), Mary Ann Campbell (Jerry) and Sylvia Simmons; and her brother-in-law Melvin Fry.
She is survived by: her children, Matt Penka (Christi) of Great Bend, Michele Smith (Delbert) of Topeka and Melissa Sides of Hutchinson; her grandchildren, Lauren Penka, Blake Penka, Dru Penka, Sarah Smith, Samantha Smith, Ashley Sides and Braden Sides; her sister Violet Fry of Garden City; and her brother-in-law Vincent Simmons of Garden City.
Memorials may be given to The Don and Lil Penka Scholarship Fund, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
