He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond B. Wapelhorst and Cecilia Wapelhorst (Weber); his brother David Wapelhorst; his brothers-in-law, Bruce Harders, Richard Harders and Darrell Phillips; and his sibling's children, Frank Wapelhorst and Anita Phillips.
He is survived by: his wife Charlotte Harders; his daughter Jennifer Cason (Ken) of Maize; his granddaughter Lily Cason of Maize; his siblings, Dan Wapelhorst (Joyce) of Great Bend, Rosemary Phillips of Sioux City, Doris Karst (Allen) of Great Bend, Clara Evans (Robert) of Newton and Teresa Connelly (James) of Wichita; and his sister-in-law Colette Wapelhorst of Shawnee. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A rosary will be held on Monday, October 13th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the Bryant Funeral Home (1425 S Patton Rd, Great Bend, KS 67530). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, October 14th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. Patrick Catholic Church (4100 Broadway Ave, Great Bend, KS 67530).
In lieu of flowers, memorials have been designated to Golden Belt Humane Society or American Heart Association, in care of Bryant Funeral Home, 1425 Patton Rd., Great Bend, KS 67530.
