It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Roger Lee Michaelis of Great Bend, Kansas, who passed away on May 5, 2025, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Michaelis and Alma Michaelis (Waymaster); and his siblings, Marlin Michaelis, Larry Michaelis and Shirley Brown.
He is survived by: his wife Reatha Michaelis; his children, Kimberly Specht (Jason Heis) of Salina and Kevin Michaelis (Jennfer Rouan) of Russell; his stepsons, Lee Bates (Gina) of Pratt, Noel Bates (Audrey) of Ellis and Ryan Bates (Jenny) of Hays; his brothers, Gerald Michaelis of Galatia and Gene Michaelis (Regina) of Olathe; his grandchildren, Austin Michaelis, Tyler Specht, Madison Dean (Hunter), Jarrett Bates, Owen Bates, Jacob Specht, Mackenzie Bates, Marleigh Bates, Brooklyn Michaelis, Reagan Bates and Joslyn Bates; and his great grandchildren, Waylen Jacob Dean and Baby Dean.
Visitation was held on Friday, May 9th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home (415 N Main St, Hoisington, KS 67544). A prayer was held on Friday, May 9th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A memorial service was held on Saturday, May 10th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
