He was predeceased by : his parents, William Lynn and Rhuy K. McMurry (Williams); his siblings, Donald McMurry, Dale McMurry, Ruth Freeman, Rosa Lee Freeman and Harriet George; and his son-in-law Pat Greenleaf.

He is survived by : his wife Elaine McMurry; and his children, Debbie Goering (Steve), Greg McMurry (Cindy), D. J. McMurry (Kim), Monica Fincher (Gary) and Donna Greenleaf. He is also survived by 14 Grandchildren, 27 Great Grandchildren, 2 stepchildren and 1 step grandson.

Memorials are suggested to Fairview Cemetery, Elmer Kansas, or Kiowa County Veterans Memorial, Mullinville, KS.
