He was predeceased by: his parents, Victor Reed and Viola Wilson (Eaton); his wife Carol Joyce Swoboda; his daughter Tracey Hamilton; his stepson Michael Doebele; and his stepgreat-granddaughter Emberlin Turner.
He is survived by: his aunt Ila Mae; his uncle Fred Brun; his former wife Marilyn Peterson; his children, Teryl Goeckel (Doug) of Washington, Kansas and Reed Wilson (Chris) of Clyde, Kansas; and his stepdaughters, Donna Beckmann (Darwyn) of Bremen, Sheila Meyer (Dave) of Beatrice, Karen Meyer (James) of Hanover, Lisa Brier of Mount Pleasant and Jodi Sullivan (Scott) of Flint, Texas. He is also survived by 25 grandchildren; and 44 great-grandchildren.
A memorial fund has been established for the Hanover American Legion or the Washington County Resource Center/Food Bank.
