He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Elmer and Cora Louise Gottschalk (Meier); and his brother Wayne Galen Gottschalk. He is survived by: his son Garrett Gottschalk (Emily Tamblyn); his grandson Louis of Chicago, Illinois; his daughter Megan Standefer (Ryan); his grandchildren, Henry of Prairie Village, Kansas, Willa of Prairie Village, Kansas and Audrey of Prairie Village, Kansas; his siblings, Susie Malone (Mike) of Topeka, Karla Ackerman (Mark) of Olathe, Kansas and Ken Gottschalk (Lorrie) of Paola, Kansas; and his sister-in-law Debbie Gottschalk of Topeka, Kansas. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
