He was predeceased by: his parents, Edmund Karlin and Matilda Karlin (Dinges); his wife Rose Mary Comeau of Joseph's Church; and his siblings, Irvin, Gerald, James and Lauraine Kluge.
He is survived by: his children, Susan Pfannenstiel of Apple Valley, Robert J. Karlin (Jane) of Sugarland and Thomas E. Karlin (Lindy) of Lincoln, Nebraska; and his sister Annette Schmidt of Dallas, Texas. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
