He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin Wendlin and Kathryn Silverine "Katie" Herman (Sander); his sister Verda Johnson; his brother-in-law Jerry Soderberg; and his grandson Aiden Dean Herman.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Elizabeth Fiegel of Lawrence; his children, Shawn Herman (Ruthie) of Rockaway, NY, Taylor Herman (Kasie) of Gardner, Teresa Selensky (Curtis) of Park, Claudine Boldridge (William) of Lawrence, Laurie Toth (Pat) of Lawrence, Nicole Smith (Brandon) of Olathe and Rachel Herman of Lawrence; his siblings, Gary Herman (Deanne) of Tonganoxie and Vera Soderberg of Quinter; and his brother-in-law Jon Johnson of Utica. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials are suggested for masses, to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or to A Different Mindset Association.
