He is survived by: his children, Susan Holzmeister (Shirley Grecian), Ivan (Charlene Holzmeister), Kevin (Chris Holzmeister), Tom (Julie Holzmeister), Georgia, Greg (Miriam Holzmeister) and Eric Holzmeister of Hays; and his grandchildren, Adele Runge (Ryan), Brock Holzmeister (Stephanie), Greyson Holzmeister, Miranda Stein (Bill), Andrea Holzmeister (Travis Seuser), Brieana Janz (Jon), Brandon Holzmeister (Misty), Shannon Brandenburg (Josh), Madison Holzmeister, Dylan Holzmeister, Austin Holzmeister, Nathan Holzmeister, Rachel Byarlay (Aaron) and Victoria Jones (Brady). He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the 40&8 Boxcar, in care of the funeral chapel.
