He was predeceased by: his parents, George W. Gatschet and Agnes L. Brull; his wife Ethel Ann Leiker; and his siblings, Francis, Thomas and Jeanne Winter.
He is survived by: his daughters, Kathy Klitzke (Rege) of Wichita, Carol Staples (Richard) of Hays, Joyce Rupp (Kevin) of Hays and Lisa Craig of Olathe; his brother Paul Gatschet (Carolyn); and his grandchildren, Kaitlan Goetz, Jacob Klitzke, Erica Fisher, Maria Cutright, Richard A. Staples, Lesley Hagar and Danielle Craig. He is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the St. Thomas More Society at Hays Catholic Schools to benefit local Catholic education, a cause deeply cherished by George and Ethel, reflecting their family's long-standing commitment and tireless support for Catholic schools.
