He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Carl and Helen Edna Herman (Laudick); his daughter Lori Ann Herman; his sisters, Polly Nightingale and Cleo Mae Stegman; and his brothers-in-law, Dick Nightingale, Gene Stegman, Lawrence Scheve and Dwayne Askew.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Dufield of Hays; his children, Keith Herman of Fort Worth, TX, Linda Coyle of Arlington, TX and Debbie Keohan (Tom) of Parker; his siblings, David Herman of Wichita, Mary Lou Scheve of Kinsley and Janice Askew of Dodge City; his grandchildren, Lauren Coyle, Madison Coyle, Andrew Keohan and Grant Keohan; and his great grandchild Beckham. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, the Heritage Foundation, or to the Wounded Warrior Project.
