He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Karst and Bridget Karst (Jacobs); his significant other Kathy Ukele; and his sister Charlsie Koerner (Karst). He is survived by: his sons, Melvin Benjamin Karst III (Joan) of Hays, Mark Karst (Nikki) of Kansas City, Jonathan Karst of Boulder, CO, Clayton Karst (Janae) of Kansas City and Dylan Karst (Katie) of Hays; his stepsons, Jason Ukele (Stephanie) of Salina and Corey Ukele (Brandy) of Salina; his grandchildren, Katrina Delimont, Kailey Delimont, Cooper Goodrow, Conner Ukele, Hendrix Karst, Ike Ukele, Nemia Zaid, Jaxon Karst, Cadence Karst, Colton Ukele, Lyric Karst, Adler Ukele, Charlotte McKinney, Rhett McKinney, Oliver McKinney, Hayden Karst, Montecina Karst and Maddux Karst; and his sisters, Sharon Befort (Karst) of Hays and Melly Karst of Austin, TX..

Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 10th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Monday, August 11th 2025 from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM at the Keithley Funeral Homes and Crematory-Brock's Chapel (2509 Vine St, Hays, KS 67601). A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 11th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church (1805 Vine St, Hays, KS 67601).
