She was predeceased by: her parents, William R. Staab and Pauline Staab (Doerfler); her husband Joseph C. Karlin; her son Joseph William Karlin; and her siblings, Laurinda Rome, Edward Staab and William R. Staab, Jr..
She is survived by: her children, Jeaninne Kaberlein (Bill) of Hays, Coleen Shields of Hays, Sue Taylor (Rob) of Hays, Thomas Karlin (Margaret) of Colby, KS, Lawrence Karlin (Sheila) of Garden City, KS and Paul Karlin (Darla); and her siblings, Henrietta Karlin and Gerald Staab (June) of Longmont, CO. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren.
