He was predeceased by: his parents, George Michel and Alvina Michel (Reinhardt); his wife Dora Lee (Dumler); his son Steven Leroy; and his siblings, Paul, Leon, Donald and Esther.

He is survived by: his daughters, Connie O'Hare (Roger) of Grove, OK, Vicky Showman (Randy) of Dora, MO, Karen Bailey (Chris) of Jennings, KS and Cathy Pfeifer (Galen) of Hays, KS; his grandchildren, Patrick O'Hare (Wendy), Michel O'Hare (Jennifer), Kelly Showman, Derek Showman, Marcus Showman, Danielle Weidauer (Kurt), Andrea Bromm (Gabe), Denton Bailey (Stephanie), Ryan Pfeifer (Sarah), Aaron Pfeifer (Brendan), Taylor Pfeifer (Hannah) and Justin Pfeifer; his great grandchildren, Connor O'Hare, Landon O'Hare, Kaden O'Hare, Evan Gronau (Megan), Avery Gronau, Andrew Showman, Ethan Showman, Joslyn Showman, Paisley Showman, Will Weidauer, Isabelle Weidauer, Brody Bromm, Layne Bromm, Wyatt Bromm, Scarlett Bailey, Adelyn Bailey, Sophia Pfeifer, Miles Pfeifer, Jase Pfeifer and Addie Pfeifer; and his great great grandchild Maggie Gronau.
