He was predeceased by: his wife Mary; and his daughter Jennifer Ann. He is survived by: his siblings, Irwin "Huck" Smith (Shirley) of Hill City and Devera Baalman of Cimarron; and his children, James Smith (Kameo) of Hill City, Joseph Smith (Glenda Meyer) of Hill City, Julie Breinig (Donnie) of Bogue and Jason Smith (Dawn Powell) of Hill City. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
