He was predeceased by : his sister Elaine Bartel; and his former life partner Kathleen Siebert. He is survived by : his wife Linda Bartel of Burrton; his children, Jeff Bartel (Erin) of Wichita and Stacy Lynn Burke (Beau Erhardt) of Hutchinson; his siblings, Glenn Bartel (Lavonne) of Wichita, Scott Wayne Bartel (Brenda) of Hillsboro, Sharon Tomlinson of Wichita and Darlene Ediger (Paul) of Hesston; his son Jeffrey Dale Bartel (Erin); and his grandchildren, Katherine and James Bartel.
