Kathleen Oborny Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Kathleen Oborny (Hillsboro, Kansas), who passed away on November 14, 2025 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Ralph Steiner and Anne Steiner (Reznicek); her husband George Oborny; her son George Donald; and her brother Francis Steiner.
She is survived by: her children, Dennis Oborny (late Rita) of Salina, KS, Julie Klenda (Val) of Lincolnville, KS, Jeannie Blue (Steve) of Gardner, KS, David Oborny (Sandra) of Marion, KS and Jennifer Marshall (Rick) of Blackwater, MO; her siblings, Joyce Buckley of Marion, KS, Barbara Rodriguez of Wichita, KS, Veronica Base (Jerry) of Smolan, KS, Margaret Bailey of Tacoma, WA and Ralph Steiner (Ida) of Eudora, KS; and her sister-in-law Rita Steiner of Durham, KS.. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 19th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church. A vigil service was held on Wednesday, November 19th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass will be held on Thursday, November 20th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Father Kapaun Legacy Fund or St Luke's Living Center in care of the Jost Funeral Home, 401 S. Washington, Hillsboro, KS 67063.
