He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin Sr. Kolas and Edithe Kolas (Knott); his spouse Raylene Dee Grindstaff; and his brother Robert Kolas. He is survived by: his daughters, Raylene Guertin of Galatia and Toni Scott (Daniel Jr.) of Otis; his grandsons, Benjamin Lee Matthew Kolas, Robert Hersel Kolas, Justin Miles Scott and Daniel Lee Scott, III; his great grandchildren, Maddie Kolas, Jaylin Kolas, Bentley Kolas, Libby Kolas, Connor Scott, Raylene Kolas, Zidra Kolas and Erza Scott; his brother Richard Kolas of South Carolina; and his nephews, Ricky Kolas, Kevin Kolas and Bobby Kolas.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 15th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home (415 N Main St, Hoisington, KS 67544). A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 15th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location.
