With sadness, we share the passing of Ellen Josephine Nixon of Holton, Kansas. Ellen, born on November 27, 1938 in Elko, Nevada, passed away on August 10, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Leo Garnett and Ella Dorothea Barber (Matilda); her children, John Ray Nixon and Diana Fate; her siblings, Helen Aramaki, Joe and John Lewis Barber; and her half-brother Jack Barber.

She is survived by: her son Howard Nixon of Holton, KS; her son-in-law Don Fate; her half-brother Norman Hines (Carolyn) of Elko, NV; her grandchildren, Zachary Fate (Samantha) of Holton, KS and Mallory Fate (Lane Lassiter) of Holton, KS; and her great grandchildren, Ava, Ari and Jade.
