It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Joan Darlene Schiffbauer of Holton, Kansas, who passed away on June 2, 2025, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Joaquin Alvarnaz and Hazel Alvarnaz. She is survived by: her husband Bob Schiffbauer; her children, Debbie Lencoski of Painesville, Robert Schiffbauer of Olathe and Teri Watkins of Holton; her daughter-in-law Lisa Pate; and her grandchildren, Jade Cingoranelli (Tony), Kyle Schiffbauer (Ashley), Justin Schiffbauer (Sally), Leslie Lencoski, Ryan Lencoski (Megan), Joe Lencoski, Jack Ryff and Lucy Ryff. She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren.
The lying in state will be held on Thursday, June 5th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home (524 Pennsylvania Ave, Holton, KS 66436). A rosary will be held on Thursday, June 5th 2025 at 5:30 PM at the same location. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 5th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, June 6th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. Dominic Catholic Church (416 Ohio Ave, Holton, KS 66436). A burial will be held on Friday, June 6th 2025 at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
