It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Madene Fernkopf of Holton, Kansas, born in Whiting, Kansas, who passed away on February 3, 2023, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Herman George and Lura George; and her siblings, Hazel Porter, Marjorie McDaniel, Jean Hallin, Lucille Kirk, Joan George, Ray, Ross and Vernon George.

She is survived by : her daughter Lura Ethel George (Whittle); her husband Eugene Max Fernkopf; her sons, Robert Fernkopf (Robin) of Holton, KS and Steven Fernkopf (Robyn) of Tucson, AZ; her siblings, Ludema Scott of Harrodsburg, KY and Dwane George of Basehor, KS; her granddaughters, Emily Caudle (Tyler) of Holton, KS and Lura Goff (Dustin) of Holton, KS; and her great grandchildren, Jaelyn, Ian, Beau, Jax and Cullen.
