It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Frederick Ivan Preston of Howard, Kansas, who passed away on January 11, 2023, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Otis Preston and Hazel Preston (Greenwood); his siblings, Ruth Preston, Joyce Lord, Dean Preston and Orvan Preston; and his grandson Eddie Bonnette.

He is survived by : his brother Fred; his sister-in-law Dorothy Ward; his wife Dorothy Preston; his children, Steven Ward (Loretta) of Gardner, Susan Maples (Justin) of Augusta and Sheryl Mackowiak (Rob) of Chicago; his grandchildren, Bradley Ward, Mike Ward, Brent Burke, Katie Smith, Alex Mackowiak and Anna Mackowiak; his great grandchildren, Cooper, Tatum, Seth, Chase, Mikenna, Myla, Maci and Reece; and his siblings, Dennis Preston (Sharon Cowden) of Wichita, Dorothy Walta of Bonner Springs and Sue Wacker (Marty) of Lansing.

Memorial contributions in honor of Fred can be made to the First Baptist Church of Howard and can be mailed to or left with the funeral home.
