With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Ruth Louise (Knowles) Horton (Hugoton, Kansas), who passed away on April 12, 2026 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Homer Knowles and Cecilia Knowles (Groth); her husband Roy; her grandson Cole David Twilligear; and her brothers, Leland and John Knowles.
She is survived by: her children, Scott Horton of Wichita, KS and Kay Shurtleff of Hugoton, KS; and her brother Robert Knowles (Sandra) of Satanta, KS. She is also survived by five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A memorial has been established in her honor for the Hugoton Sports Booster Club, in care of Robson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 236, Hugoton, Kansas 67951.
