With sadness, we share the passing of Douglas Dean Mitchell of Hutchinson, Kansas. Douglas, born on May 10, 1962, passed away on September 6, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Galen L. Mitchell and Shirley I. Mitchell (Raber); his brother Gary Mitchell; his sister-in-law Debbie Mitchell; and his niece Alice BilyeuCremation.
He is survived by: his wife Lisa A. Kelly; his children, Bret Mitchell of Kansas City, MO, Derek Mitchell of Lawrence and Lauren Yost (Wesley) of Lawrence; his grandchildren, Lydia Mitchell, Lila, Malcolm and Louise Yost; and his siblings, Stephen Mitchell (Barb) of Kansas City, MO, Larry Mitchell of Wichita and Jackie Ramos (Gil) of Cedar Creek, TX.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the First Congregational Church (3410 N Plum St, Hutchinson, KS 67502).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Doug Mitchell Memorial Fund, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS. This is to help with expenses and to donate to causes near and dear to Doug's heart.
