He was predeceased by: his parents, Rufus Pettay and Ruth Pettay (Miller); and his sister-in-law Vi Pettay. He is survived by: his children, Karen Spanyer (Mark) and Thomas Pettay (Melissa); his brother Jack Pettay; his grandchildren, Leslie Richey (Steven), Christopher Pettay, Erik Pettay and Kyle Pettay; and his great grandchildren, Adam, Victoria, Ethan Pettay, Michael Richey, Daniel, Kolton Pettay and Mary Ann Richey. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Hutchinson Funeral Chapel (300 E 30th Ave, Hutchinson, KS 67502). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Memorials are suggested to the Gentiva Hospice and can be sent in care of Hutchinson Funeral Chapel.
