He is survived by: his wife Linda Johnson Nerad; his stepdaughters, Denise Avery (Robert Scott Avery) and Michelle Hurst; his grandchildren, Christopher P. E. Avery (Marie Moses), Catherine R. Avery (Jacob Gonedridge) and Robert L. Lounsbury III; his great grandchildren, Christopher J. P. Avery, Emitt Avery and Alice Lounsbury; and his brother Robert Tegethoff. He is also survived by seven nieces and nephews.
