He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Bernard and Lois Bernard; his siblings, Michael Snowden, Charlotte King and Kim Bernard-Law; and his nephew David Bernard.
He is survived by: his sisters, Maxine Johnson (Ronald) of Aurora, CO, Shelia Johnson (Melvin) of Aurora, CO and Kennita Hairston (Hosea); his aunt Lucille Adams of Hutchinson; his nephews, Robert Gomez of Denver, CO, Gregory Gomez of Hutchinson, KS, Aaron Green of Las Vegas, NV and Micah Green of Leander, TX; his niece Jessica Springs of Raleigh, NC; and his close friend Tena Dauber. He is also survived by relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Food Bank of Reno County, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
