Joyce Elaine (Gagnebin) Sims Beam Obituary
We announce the death of Joyce Elaine (Gagnebin) Sims Beam in Hutchinson, Kansas, who passed away on September 16, 2026, at the age of 88. Joyce will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Delbert R. Gagnebin and Beatrice Katherine Gagnebin (Ralph); her husband Clarence Beam; and her stepchildren, Wesley, Donald Beam and Lou Ann Ardisana.
She is survived by: her children, Kathy Osborne of Nickerson, Richard Sims of Hutchinson, Terrie Myers (Bill) of Nickerson, Robert Sims of Hutchinson, Michael Sims of Salina and Brett Sims (Sara) of Glenwood, IA; and her stepsons, James Beam of Aurora, CO and Richard Beam of Denver, CO. She is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Elliott Mortuary & Crematory (1219 N Main St, Hutchinson, KS 67501). A memorial service was held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Nickerson United Methodist Church or Clear Thoughts Foundation (dedicated to advancing breakthrough research that can slow, stop, and ultimately end dementia), in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
