We announce the death of Judy (Smith) Guffey of Hutchinson, Kansas, who passed away on October 8, 2026, at the age of 82. Judy will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Judy will be remembered for the impact she had on the lives of those around her. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Those who knew Judy will remember moments of kindness, warmth, and presence. Though words cannot fully capture her life, the legacy of connections and experiences remains. Judy’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued her companionship.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Wayne Smith and Pearl Smith (Browning); her husband Robert Guffey; her siblings, Alma Arnold, Charles and John Smith; and her granddaughter Ashley First.
She is survived by: her children, Debra Utterback, Pamela Barnes and Jon Spencer of Hutchinson; and her sister Rose Lingle of Anaheim, CA. She is also survived by eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
