He was predeceased by: his parents, Lowell John and Dorothy Jean Comer (Beimrohr). He is survived by: his wife Debbie of Hutchinson; his sons, T. J. Comer of Hutchinson, Christopher Comer of Gladstone, MO and Jeffrey Comer (Katherine) of Buhler; his grandsons, Andrew J. "A. J." Comer, Kellen Comer and Jensen Comer; his brother Thomas Comer (Rita) of Chichester, NH; and his siblings-in-law, Breva Winderlin (Bill) of Tuttle, OK and Jay Simon of Newton.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Hospice House or Retired Officials and Coaches Association (ROCA).
