He was predeceased by: his parents, Lewis G. Bowen and Minnie E. Bowen (Burget); his siblings, Marjorie Long (Jesse), Don Bowen and Roger Bowen; his siblings-in-law, Jeanette Bowen, Charles Brunton, Margaret Brunton Smith (Larry) and Joann Hornak (Larry); his nephew Michael Brunton; and his niece Debra Fletcher (Bowen).

He is survived by: his wife Shirley; his children, Andrea Siefkes (Tim), Pam Kennedy (Kelly), Kevin Bowen (Jodee), Tamara Harbour (Phil) and Shawnee; his grandchildren, Courtney Siefkes of Austin, TX, Amy Messer (Travis), Gardner, Matthew Peil (Loni), Lauren Rickner (James) and Aubrey Kennedy; and his sister-in-law Margaret 'Peg Bowen. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
