Though Robert may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Dale Battey and Lola Battey (Tennant); and his in-laws, Russell and Arline Thompson. He is survived by: his wife Janis Battey of Hutchinson; his daughter Kim Oborny (Dan) of Durham; his grandsons, Ethan Oborny (Cassidy) of Durham and Logan Oborny (Shannon Taylor) of Tampa; and his great grandchild Beau Oborny of Durham. He is also survived by one aunt, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
