He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Schuessler and Mildred Schuessler (Allen); his sister Patricia; and his son Andy. He is survived by: his wife Joanne; his daughters, Erin Schuessler of Overland Park and Emily Schuessler of Wichita; his former wife Constance Hatch of Burlington, KS.; his brother Mike Schuessler of Washington, KS; and his granddaughters, Alyssa, Jenna and Avery.
