We announce the death of Carole Annette Farthing (Independence, Kansas), who passed away on September 15, 2026, at the age of 83. She was predeceased by: her parents, Golda Rainwater and Leonard Rainwater; and her sister Jeannette. She is survived by: her husband Donald B. Farthing, Jr.; her sister Jeannie Thompson (Harold) of Tahlequah, Oklahoma.; her daughters, Lynn Reddy (Chris) of Independence and Amy Chesser (David) of Wichita; and her grandchildren, Lisa Stockton (Jacob), Carrie Wheeler, Nick Reddy (Courtney), Elizabeth Askew (Daniel), Emily Bradley (RJ) and Adam Chesser.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church (200 S Pennsylvania Ave, Independence, KS 67301).
In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the USD 446 Educational Foundation.
