We bid farewell to Douglas Fienen of Independence, Kansas, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on December 15, 2025 at the age of 78. Douglas touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, John P. Fienen, Jr. and Gladys Fienen (Whistler); and his son Zachary Fienen. He is survived by: his wife Susan Fienen; his children, Jenny Read (Sam) of Corinth, Brian Fienen (Amy) of Castle Rock, Kami Kinkaid of San Francisco, Clint Kinkaid (Debra) of Meriam and Devin McNown (Ember) of Boulanger, Oklahoma; his grandchildren, Zachary, Caleb Fienen, Tatum, Nelson Kim, Audri Kinkaid, Brooke Mitchell and Charlee McNown; and his siblings, Nancy Burleson (Barry) of Garland, Ken Fienen of Telephone and Karen Bynum (Ronnie) of Rowland. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended relatives and close friends.
The family suggests in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Cancer Center in Independence, Kansas or to the Zion Lutheran Church; these may be left with the funeral home or mailed in care of David W. Barnes Funeral Home 306 N. Cline Rd. Coffeyville, KS 67337.
