Joan C. Downey Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Joan C. Downey in Independence, Kansas, born in Guthrie, Oklahoma, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 21, 2025 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John A. Flasch and Marguerite Flasch (Reim); and her brother Lt. John A. Flasch. She is survived by: her husband Charles Downey of Coyle, Oklahoma.; her children, Randy Downey (Barbara), Carrie Fangman and Stephanie Hartwig; and her brothers, James Flasch (Carol) and Jerald Flasch (Nancye). She is also survived by 9 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a host of friends.
Memorials are suggested to St. Peter's Lutheran Church, and may be left with Feuerborn Family Funeral Service.
